岩城京子　フリーランス・ジャーナリスト。77年、東京都出まれ。86年から91年までニューヨーク在住。94年から96年まで東京バレエ団選科に在籍。96年、慶応義塾大学環境情報学部(SFC)に入学。在学中より舞台コラム、取材文等を書きはじめる。99年、同大学同学部卒。契約編集スタッフとして出版社に勤務したのち、01年独立。現在主にダンス、シアター、カルチャートラベルを専門にしたフリー・ジャーナリストとして活動。国内、海外で取材をこなし年間２００本以上の記事を執筆する。近年の主な海外取材対象者／パリオ・ペラ座バレエ団、英国ロイヤルバレエ団、シュツットガルト・バレエ団、デンマーク・ロイヤルバレエ団、アクラム・カーン、ジュリエット・ビノシュ、ロメオ・カステルッチなど。

KYOKO IWAKI is a freelance journalist mainly specializing in dance, theatre, and cultural travel. She was born in Tokyo 1977, and lived in New York from year 86 to 91.She has been trained as a professional ballet dancer for 15 years, and joined the Tokyo Ballet Company Senka for about 2 years. She entered the Keio University on1996, and started writing columns and interviews on cutting-edge independent magazines, whilst attending the classes. She graduated from the university on 1999, and achieved a contract as a magazine editor at Shufu to Seikatsu Sha Co. In 2001, she started her brand new career as a freelance journalist. Now she writes about 200 articles per year, both on domestic and international culture. Some of her recent interviewees are Romeo Castellucci, Akram Khan, Saburo Teshigawara, Roland Petit, Ushio Amagatsu,Yukio Ninagawa etc. (For more information please go to works page)
